Rogue Servants with a bond can be moved as a separate unit to cooperate in the acquisition of spirit fonts. When a spirit font is acquired, a path passes through the ley line connecting it to one’s base, temporarily boosting Iori’s abilities. As part of this gameplay mechanic players aim to acquire the spirit fonts – which are ultimately the enemy’s strongholds – by making a mutually determined number of moves on a grid map. In addition KOEI TECMO revealed some additional gameplay functionality in the form of the “Spirit Font Conflict”, an all-new gameplay element featuring a competition between enemies for “spirit fonts” scattered across Edo.
